The Shire of Murray is proud to continue supporting grassroots community and sporting groups through the Community Assistance Partnership Fund (CAPF), delivered in partnership with Alcoa.
Throughout 2025, the following groups have been successful in securing CAPF funding: Murray Districts Arts & Crafts Society, Peel & District Gun Club, Murray Districts Playgroup, Peel Bush Poetry Group, Easybeatz Mandurah, Murray Toy Library, Pinjarra Senior High School P&C, Murray Districts Aboriginal Association, Pinjarra Golf Club, North Yunderup Community Association, Barefoot Raw, Murray Districts Pistol Club, Pinjarra Community Garden, and the Murray Music & Drama Club.
Recent grants have enabled groups to deliver local arts programs, sustainability initiatives such as solar panel installations and native animal habitats, poetry evenings, theatre productions, sporting open days, equipment upgrades, inclusive events and men’s mental health projects.
Shire President Douglas McLarty said the program continues to demonstrate the strength and creativity of the Murray community. Powered almost entirely by volunteers, these local organisations make an extraordinary contribution to community life, and we are pleased to help them expand their impact.
“Every year we see dedicated volunteers delivering projects that make a real difference, whether through arts, culture, sport, sustainability or social connection.”
“The Community Assistance Partnership Fund ensures these groups have the resources they need to keep doing what they do best, which is supporting our community,” said President McLarty.
The Community Assistance Partnership Fund enables organisations to undertake projects that strengthen their long-term sustainability, enhance community engagement and social inclusion, and encourage greater participation in local arts and culture. It also supports initiatives that activate community spaces and facilities, protect and celebrate our environment, and contribute to safe and healthy communities.
Alcoa Pinjarra Refinery Manager, Jodie Giraudo said this longstanding partnership with the Shire of Murray demonstrates Alcoa's commitment to fostering sustainable growth in communities close by its operations.
“Investing in the community is essential for fostering sustainable growth, enhancing social cohesion, and creating long-term value for both organisations and the communities they serve,” said Jodie Giraudo.
Applications open twice a year on 1 February and 1 August, with up to $3,000 (ex GST) available per group annually.
