Outcome
A facility that is fit for purpose, accessible and financially sustainable, offering enhanced recreation and tourism outcomes for the wider Peel Region. The Club will continue to provide opportunities for active and social lifestyles, while attracting new users, growing revenue and strengthening its legacy as a valued community asset.
Overview
Pinjarra Golf Club is the only golf club in the Shire of Murray and plays a significant role in the local and regional community. Established in 1912, the Club operates an 18-hole course with a 50-year-old clubhouse that no longer meets modern standards.
The Club has a strong membership base, but current facilities limit its ability to diversify revenue and increase community access. A comprehensive Needs and Feasibility Study was completed in 2025 identifying infrastructure deficiencies which limit the Club’s long-term sustainability.
Located in the heart of Pinjarra, the Pinjarra Golf Club is a key regional sporting and social hub that plays an important role in local recreation, community wellbeing, and social connection. With a long-standing history of volunteerism and community involvement, the Club remains well-supported by members and the wider region.
However, the Club’s core infrastructure — including the clubhouse, maintenance facilities and course reticulation — is aged and no longer fit for purpose. The existing clubhouse does not meet modern standards for accessibility, sustainability, or gender inclusivity, and it limits the Club’s ability to host events or expand its hospitality offerings.
A recently completed Feasibility Study confirms that simply replicating the current facilities would not ensure the Club’s long-term viability.
To secure a thriving and resilient future, the Club is proposing a major redevelopment to transform the site into a contemporary, accessible, and financially sustainable facility that caters to existing members while attracting new users and diverse revenue streams.
While planning is ongoing, the proposed redevelopment is likely to include:
- A new clubhouse with modern dining and function areas, changerooms, and office/administration spaces
- New maintenance facilities
- Upgraded course infrastructure
- Additional uses to diversify revenue and appeal to a broader demographic, e.g. a mini golf course to attract families, visitors and non-traditional users
- Expanded parking and upgraded site services.
