Development Application for Western Extension to Doral’s Mineral Sand Mine Hopeland Road, North Dandalup

The proposed Western Extension to Doral’s Mineral Sand Mine includes lands in both the Shire of Murray and the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale. The Shire has received a development application for that portion of the proposed extension within the Shire of Murray which includes various lots fronting Hopeland Road in North Dandalup. Details of the Western Extension includes:
- Multi agency approval requirements including from the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water of Australia (DCCEEW), Environment Protection Authority Western Australia (EPA), Shire of Murray and Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale. The EPA approval process is nearing completion and other approval processes commenced or nearing commencement;
- An additional 511.64ha of mine area within the existing 3,015ha ‘development envelope’ previously approved by the EPA.;
- 21.04ha of degraded to completely degraded native vegetation being disturbed; and
- Approximately 5.5 years additional timeframe for the Mine.
