Notice is hereby given that, at its ordinary meeting held on 24 August 2023, Council resolved to approve modifications to its Boating Facilities and Moorings Local Planning Policy.
The Policy has been modified to exempt proposals for boating facilities from development approval in certain circumstances, provided that they comply with the general and specific requirements of the Policy. The objectives of this policy are to ensure that boating facilities do not:
- cause adverse impacts to the visual amenity of the Shire’s artificial canal waterways.
- compromise the use and safety of nearby land or any existing boating facilities.
- adversely impact navigation within an artificial canal waterway and pose a navigation hazard.
- interfere with public areas or public access to artificial canal waterways.
Copies of the Policy are available for inspection at the Shire of Murray Administration Office, 1915 Pinjarra Road, Pinjarra and at the Murray Library, cnr Pinjarra Road and Forrest Street, Pinjarra. Alternatively, the Policy can be viewed at the attached document or at the following link https://www.murray.wa.gov.au/services/permits/property-development/planning-framework/local-planning-policies.aspx
