Works on the Munday Avenue extension continue to move forward, with limestone now installed and this stage of the project completed for the current financial year.

Shire of Murray Chief Executive Officer, Dean Unsworth said the extension is a key part of improving transport access throughout the area and supporting future growth.

“Once finished, the new connection between Greenlands Road and Munday Avenue will provide a direct link to the Pinjarra industrial area, giving heavy vehicles and other traffic an alternative route that avoids the town centre,” said Mr Unsworth.

“Providing an alternative route for heavy vehicles is an important step in reducing traffic through the Pinjarra CBD. By directing industrial traffic away from the town centre, the project will help improve safety, reduce congestion and create a more pleasant environment for residents, visitors and local businesses,” added Mr Unsworth.

The Munday Avenue extension also supports the long-term vision outlined in the Pinjarra Town Centre Revitalisation Strategy. As Pinjarra continues to grow, improved transport infrastructure will play an important role in ensuring the town remains a great place to live, work and visit.

By improving access to industrial areas while reducing pressure on the town centre, the Munday Avenue extension will help strengthen Pinjarra’s commercial, retail and tourism sectors. The project is an important investment in the town’s future and will deliver lasting benefits for the community and local economy.

This project is supported and funded by the Western Australian State Government.
