The North Pinjarra community is set to benefit from an $800,000 upgrade to its much-loved community park and recreation centre, with works commencing this week.
The project will be staged throughout the 2026/2027 financial year with completion expected mid-2027.
After community consultation earlier this year, the first stage of works is now underway, with preparation for the construction of new multi-purpose courts to support a range of sport and recreational activities.
The broader project will also include: modern playground upgrades for kids of all ages, landscaped greenspace for relaxation and play, refurbished toilets, a new mural, and improved car parking for ease and safety.
Shire President Douglas McLarty said this project is an exciting project for North Pinjarra.
“This area is highly utilised by the North Pinjarra community. We are looking forward to upgrading these facilities to create a welcoming space equipped to meet the needs of a growing community,” said President McLarty
“With a mix of play, recreation and relaxation spaces that locals of all ages can enjoy, this project supports our key focus area ‘People’ which ensures our community enjoys excellent health, wellbeing and quality of life,” added President McLarty.
This project is funded by the WA Government’s Royalties for Regions program.
