Shire of Murray President to continue service

Mr Douglas McLarty has been elected unopposed as Shire President in the 2025 Local Government Elections for a two-year term.

Mr McLarty was first elected to Council in October 2017 and has been in the position of Shire President since March 2025.

An election will be held on Saturday, 18 October 2025 to fill four Councillor vacancies for four years and one vacancy for two years to give effect to the changes to our representation. The six Councillor nominees are:

  • Stewart Carter
  • Stuart Kirkham
  • Rob Cashman
  • Brett McGuinness
  • Prue George
  • Geoff Black
