Join George Walley from Mandjoogoordap Dreaming and Tracy Jones from Off The Beaten Track WA for a special NAIDOC Week hiking experience through the beautiful landscapes of Serpentine National Park.
Together, we'll wander the scenic Stacey's Loop Trail, following the footprints through time that have shaped this landscape for tens of thousands of years.
As we walk beneath towering jarrah and marri trees, George will share stories of the Bindjareb people who have lived, travelled, cared for and connected with this Country for more than 50,000 years. Through storytelling and cultural interpretation, guests will gain a deeper understanding of Noongar culture, traditional knowledge, connection to Country and the enduring relationship between people and place.
Tracy will share the more recent history of the region, exploring how the landscape transformed following European settlement and the establishment of Jarrahdale as a historic timber town more than 150 years ago. Together, these stories reveal the many layers of history that have left their mark on the land we walk today.
Footprints Through Time is more than a hike. It's an opportunity to connect people to place through shared stories, cultural understanding and a deeper appreciation of the landscapes that surround us. By weaving together ancient and contemporary perspectives, participants will discover how Country has sustained communities for generations and how its story continues to evolve.
This experience has been designed to encourage meaningful conversations, foster cultural understanding and celebrate the spirit of NAIDOC Week through connection, learning and time spent together in nature.
Expect beautiful forest scenery, powerful storytelling, rich local history, opportunities for reflection and plenty of moments to slow down, listen and connect with Country.

Come and celebrate NAIDOC Week and the school holidays with a very special storytelling session at Byford Library, featuring Dylan from Kalyakoorl.
This engaging session invites children and families to experience the rich oral traditions and storytelling of the Noongar people. Participants will be introduced to traditional narratives while also learning some basic Noongar language in a fun and interactive way.
The session will conclude with a hands-on craft activity inspired by the stories shared, giving children the opportunity to create and reflect through making.
A meaningful and family-friendly experience that celebrates NAIDOC Week while connecting children to culture, language, storytelling, and creativity.

Join award-winning Noongar artist Fiona Reidy for an immersive Djinda Kaal Dreaming Art Workshop, delivered as part of the Shire of Murray’s NAIDOC Week celebrations and July School Holidays program.
This slow-paced, yarning-style workshop brings together creativity, storytelling and cultural connection. Participants will receive a canvas featuring Fiona’s base design of a red-tailed black cockatoo and will be guided to use their own creative expression to add colour and meaning to the artwork.
Throughout the workshop, Fiona will share stories about Noongar culture and ways of life, encourage questions, and introduce participants to different techniques, tips and ways of interpreting art through storytelling.
