Department of Transport (DOT) licensing services and community resource centre (CRC) services will continue to be available locally in Murray, as the Shire of Murray officially takes over delivery of these services today.
This follows an announcement from Murray House Resource Centre that as of 30 June, it will cease the delivery of Pinjarra Community Resource Centre services, as well as DOT services.
Working closely with State Government, the Shire has made necessary arrangements to allow services to continue under its management. Pleasingly, the Shire safeguarded against any disruption of services and residents can access CRC services from Murray Library as of today.
This will be an interim measure, with CRC services back at the Murray House building at 14 James Street, Pinjarra as soon as practicable.
Murray residents will also be able to access vehicle and licensing services within a few days. With services relocating to the Shire of Murray Administration Office, the Department of Transport require a few days to relocate and test equipment. Services will commence at the Shire as of Monday, 6 July 2026.
Shire of Murray Chief Executive Officer, Dean Unsworth reinforced the Shire’s commitment to ensuring the community continues to have convenient access to essential services locally.
“We are pleased to welcome these services to the Shire team," Mr Unsworth said.
“While services are introduced into our remit, our focus is on a continued quality service. As time goes on, we will be looking to enhance these services further and potentially expand where community demand requires it,” he added.
