The Shire of Murray is holding the annual Christmas on the Murray event on Thursday, 4 December.

This much-loved, free community event offers hours of family fun and entertainment and runs from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Murray River Foreshore.

Shire President Douglas McLarty said Christmas on the Murray is one of the Shire’s most joyful traditions.

“It’s the perfect way to kick off the festive season and come together with our community,” said President McLarty.

“Enjoy live Christmas carols from the Coastal Band, talented local performers and the Godlemans, plus a magical Christmas stage show for the kids.”

“There will also be free kids’ activities including Christmas crafts, a petting zoo and face painting. Bring a picnic rug, settle in for a lovely and enjoyable evening by our beautiful Murray River,” President McLarty added.

Stroll along Pinjarra’s main street and pick up dinner from one of the fantastic local food businesses or grab a classic sausage sizzle from the Lions Club of Pinjarra in the Town Square. Along with delicious treats from the ice-cream and coffee van.

In recognition of International Day of People with Disability, the Shire of Murray is continuing to make its events more accessible including its flagship celebration, Christmas on the Murray. This year’s program will include favourite activities alongside an Auslan interpreter on the main stage and calm Christmas crafts.
