The Shire of Murray has awarded Neo Civil Pty Ltd the tender for the Batavia Quays South Yunderup Boat Ramp Upgrade.

The $961,677 upgrade will improve launching and retrieval of boats at the ramp.

Shire President Douglas McLarty said the boat ramp is a well-used asset that plays an important role in supporting the Murray community.

"Access to the Murray waterways is a valued part of our lifestyle and helps make our region a great place to live, work and visit. The existing boat ramp, which was constructed around 2001, requires replacement to ensure the community can continue to enjoy safe and reliable access to the water," added President McLarty.

This project falls within the Shire’s priority focus area of ‘Place’ and supports the community’s aspiration where our rural charm is preserved while we grow by embracing innovative urban design ideas and enhancing marine facilities to improve access to rivers and waterways; supporting recreation, tourism and economic development.
