Murray Active Adventures to bring a host of different sporting events to Murray on 22 and 23 November.
Shire of Murray President Douglas McLarty said Murray Active Adventures will offer a jam-packed weekend full of free sporting events and recreation activities for the community to take part in.
“There will be activities held throughout the weekend that cater to all ages and abilities. There is something for everyone with events including: bushwalking, canoeing, hockey, mountain biking, slot car racing, touch football, volleyball, golf, tennis, yoga, carriage driving, bootcamp, lawn bowls, and more.”
“This festival will help us showcase some of the fantastic local sporting clubs and activities in Murray, along with some new unique sports to try. We encourage everyone to get active and take part in what will be a fantastic weekend,” added President McLarty.
Ky Walker, President of the Kwillana Outrigger Canoe Club said, “We’re excited to host the canoeing events as part of Murray Active Adventures. It’s a wonderful chance for people to get out on the water, experience the beauty of the Murray River, and try something new in a safe and supportive environment. We hope the weekend inspires more people to connect with paddling and enjoy the camaraderie that comes with being part of our club.”
Lisa from WA Gravity Girls said “We are thrilled to be involved in the Murray Active Adventures weekend. It is an amazing opportunity to encourage more women and girls to give mountain biking a try in a safe and fun environment, and to promote and support mountain biking within the region.”
All events are free to attend, however bookings are required. To find out more and to register for the events, please visit murray.wa.gov.au/MurrayActiveAdventures.
The first iteration of this semi-annual event was held earlier this year with more than 100 people attending the range of events.
