The Humphrey Park upgrade project in Pinjarra is complete. Enhancing one of the town’s key green spaces for both residents and visitors to enjoy.
The upgrades build on earlier works completed as part of a recent subdivision development to the park’s south-west, which introduced a planted stormwater basin and new concrete paths linking the park to surrounding footpaths. The latest improvements significantly expand the park’s appeal and functionality, delivering a more vibrant and inclusive space for the local community.
Incorporating feedback gathered during a community consultation process in November 2023, the upgrades include: a new kickabout area for informal sport, play and exercise, play equipment with shade sails, picnic facilities including new seating and tables, shady trees and drainage enhancements.
Shire of Murray President Douglas McLarty said the upgrades reflect the community’s vision for the space.
“Humphrey Park is now better equipped to meet the needs of a growing community, with a mix of play, recreation and relaxation spaces that locals of all ages can enjoy,” said President McLarty.
“This project supports our key focus area ‘People’ which ensures our community enjoys excellent health, wellbeing and quality of life.
“We are grateful to Lotterywest and Alcoa for their support in helping bring this project to life.”
The project was funded through the Shire’s 2024–2025 Capital Works Program, with $150,000 contributed by Lotterywest and an additional $67,000 contributed by Alcoa.
