Murray District Historical Society - Annual General Meeting

The evening will commence with the Society’s Annual General Meeting, including the election of new office bearers and committee members.

Following the meeting, guest speaker Jill Paterson will present The Pollard Tragedies: Aclare’s Chequered Existence.

A long-standing member of the Murray Districts Historical Society, as well as the Royal Western Australian Historical Society and Friends of Battye Library, Jill brings a wealth of historical knowledge and a personal connection to Aclare Farm, the early residence of the Pollard family who arrived in Western Australia in 1839.

Through the story of the Pollard family and their experiences at Aclare, Jill will offer a fascinating glimpse into the challenges, triumphs, and realities of life in the early days of Pinjarra, providing valuable insight into the district’s rich local heritage.
