Dropping off waste is easier with the installation of a moving floor and compactor at Corio Road Transfer Station. Waste was previously dropped into skip bins over a gate, making it difficult when the items are large and/or heavy.
The moving floor allows for waste to be easily transitioned from the back of a ute or trailer onto a moving floor with the removal of the gates, where it is then compacted into skip bins.
As well as being more convenient and user friendly for residents, it dramatically reduces transport costs for the Shire as compacted waste requires can be transported more efficiently.
