North Dandalup residents will soon have access to a refurbished Community Hall, with upgrades set to reestablish the amenity as a meeting place for locals of all ages and a venue suitable for a variety of uses.
Community representatives identified the upgrade as a priority project in the 2017 – 2022 North Dandalup Community Plan and the Shire of Murray and North Dandalup Community Group Inc. have been working closely to make this project a reality.
The first project milestone was realised at the end of January when an air-conditioning system was installed at the building.
- Installation of insulation to the hall and kitchen areas
- Installation of structural steel beams to support the unit
- Electrical switchboard upgrade
Over the next three months, further works will include:
Resanding and sealing the building’s wooden floors
Installation of new oven r
Installation of sound moderation improvements to reduce echo
Installation of window treatments for sound moderation and to improve the buildings aesthetics
Installation of exterior barbeque
Installation of signage to encourage building use
The project has been made possible through funding from the Australian Government’s Stronger Communities Program, Resource Capital Funds Foundation, MZI Resources and the Shire of Murray.
