The Shire of Murray secured funding through the Government of Western Australia’s Road Safety Grants Program to further our implementation of the ‘Please Slow Down, Consider Our Kids’ program.
Murray community members are encouraged to support the initiative through the application of bin stickers on their waste bins, acting as a visual reminder for drivers to reduce their speed.
Since the program began, more than 70 local governments have successfully implemented the initiative by placing over 260,000 stickers on wheelie bins across Western Australia.
Stickers are available free of charge from:
- Shire of Murray Administration Office
- Murray Aquatic and Leisure Centre
- Murray Library
Speeding drivers contribute largely to toward road related deaths and injuries in Western Australia. The Road Safety Council of Western Australia is committed to reducing the speed of vehicles on our roads.
The stickers further support the Shire’s Murray Community Safety and Crime Prevention Strategy 2016 – 2021.
