St John’s Church Hand Over and Deconsecration

The Diocese of Bunbury and the Shire of Murray are pleased to announce an agreement has been signed for the handover of St John’s Church in Pinjarra.

The Diocese of Bunbury has agreed to gift the Church to the Shire of Murray, and the Church will be returned for community use. On 19 January 2019, the Bishop of Bunbury, the Right Reverend Dr Ian Coutts will formally de-consecrate the Church and hand the keys to the Shire President, Councillor David Bolt.

This short service will be held at 10:00am and marks the end of over 150 years of Anglican worship in the Church of St John. Worship has moved a short distance away into the new Church of St Francis of Assisi.
