Temporary Closure | Herron Point
Due to COVID-19 developments and in line with stage two Australian and State Government social distancing directions, Herron Point is closed until further notice.
The Shire manages a dedicated camping ground at Herron Point Reserve on the Harvey Estuary. Access to the reserve is from Herron Point Road, Birchmont.
Camp sites at Herron Point are subject to a first come first serve basis. There is no pre-booking of sites. Once all camp sites have been occupied, there are no overflow provisions for campers.
Camping is permitted for a maximum of two nights and fees are applicable. Toilets, shade shelters and a gas barbeque are provided however there is no portable water.
Herron Point camp sites will regularly be full during peak periods of use, such as school holidays and long weekends.
Off road vehicles and camp fires are strictly prohibited and dogs are required to be kept on a leash. A caretaker manages the site and users are required to follow directions and obey the local rules.
Overnight Stay Area – Pinjarra-Williams Road, Pinjarra
The Shire provides an area for caravans and motor homes to stay overnight for a maximum of one night on Pinjarra-Williams Road, Pinjarra across from the Premier Hotel. Rangers inspect the area every day and issue permits.
Lane Poole Reserve and Marrinup
The Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPaW) manage and offer camping locations in the eastern portion of the district at both Lane Poole Reserve and Marrinup.

Please note: Camping on public land, reserves or private land without consent is prohibited under the Caravan and Camping Ground Act 1995 and infringements can be issued. When camping in the district please ensure you respect the local environment and take your rubbish home.
