Project details

Traffic management

During construction, temporary road closures and detours will be in place. This includes:

Pinjarra Road westbound (i.e. travelling from Pinjarra to Mandurah) will be closed to all vehicles between South Western Highway and Forrest Street.

  • Detour will be via South Western Highway, Greenlands Road and Forrest Highway. Variable message boards and signage will be in place.
  • Access to the local road network around the worksite remains unchanged.

Pinjarra Road eastbound (i.e. travelling from Mandurah to Pinjarra) will be reduced to single lane and closed to all vehicles greater than 19m in length or 3.5m wide.

  • Vehicles over 19m in length or 3.5m wide must detour via Forrest Highway, Greenlands Road and South Western Highway.

Murray Street will be closed between the Pinjarra Doctor's Centre and Auto One.

  • Local access to the Shire of Murray office, Pinjarra Doctor's Centre and Auto One will be via from either end of Murray Street. There will be no access from Pinjarra Road.

Public transport

The Public Transport Authority will lose stops 25086 and 25087 Pinjarra Road for about three months. PTA will re-route buses along George, James and Forrest Street, to keep access to shopping facilities as close to bus services as possible.

The PTA proposed to relocate the two stops to George Street between James Street and Pinjarra Road for the duration of the works.

Shire of Murray Administration Building

The Shire of Murray Administration carpark will remain accessible from Pinjarra Road for the main duration of the construction program until the new car park exit needs to be constructed. The community is encouraged to use online services where possible for payment of rates or animal registration fees etc. Pedestrians can access via the existing or temporary path network around the intersection works. The construction site will be fenced so people do not walk through it.
