The Shire of Murray has entered into a three-year sponsorship arrangement with the popular MAX Pinjarra Car Show.
The Shire will contribute $3,000 each year, and also waive venue hiring costs and special event application fees.
The MAX Pinjarra car show is held each year at the Sir Ross McLarty Oval Precinct in Pinjarra. Since humble beginnings in 2010 it has attracted as many as 6,000 attendees. In 2022, 260 entrants also attended to display their vehicles, some coming from more than a 100km away.
Shire President Cr David Bolt said, “One of our key focus areas in the Shire of Murray is creating great places for people, through strong partnerships with the community, and facilitating events of a local and regional scale.”
“MAX Pinjarra is a great event for Pinjarra and brings people from around the state to the town. We are excited to be supporting it for at least the next three years and to see where that support helps take the event.”
The car show, although run by a not-for-profit organisation, does make money and also supports local organisation and groups. The Shire’s sponsorship will mean organisers can further expand the program, attracting more people to the Shire, while also supporting local vendors and operators.
75% of all its vendors, display holders and operators who attend the event are from within the Peel Region.
