Project Overview

The aim for the redevelopment of the Murray River Square and adjacent portion of foreshore is to create a high quality, vibrant, public space – a focal point for the town, which enhances the character of Pinjarra, integrates with surrounding sites, encourages activity, longer visitation and a diverse range of formal and informal activities.

The project is a key node of the Murray River Foreshore Masterplan adopted by Council in 2015 to provide a high level framework to guide future development within the foreshore area. Other nodes already complete include the three-stage Cantwell Park Playground development and additional toilet block. The Masterplan also ensures integration with the development for the Exchange Hotel site.

The Murray River Square and Foreshore Redevelopment forms part of the Pinjarra Town Centre Revitalisation Plan and is proudly supported by the State Government’s Local Projects Local Jobs and Royalties for Regions programs, Alcoa and the Shire of Murray.
