Support is available for Dwellingup based community groups impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and/or those looking to implement initiatives to bolster the vibrancy, inclusivity and health of their local community.
The Alcoa Dwellingup Community Assistance Scheme, an initiative between Alcoa and the Shire of Murray, aims to assist community based organisations with service delivery, hosting an event or building capacity.
Applications can be made at any time throughout the year and will be assessed primarily against the project’s ability to provide benefit to the Dwellingup community.
According to Shire President Cr. David Bolt, community groups, associations and organisations are encouraged to apply for funding that supports continuity in light of hardships faced due to the pandemic and initiatives that will deliver value to the community as it recovers.
“Community organisations perform a fundamental role in shaping their town and we’re committed to availing funds in order to support them,” Cr. Bolt said.
Previous successful applications have helped secure iPads for Dwellingup Primary School students and have supported Dwellingup Teenz activities as well as the Dwellingup Log Chop and Dwellingup Pumpkin Festival.
