Suspension Bridge

About This Location

This wonderful feature just a short walk from the centre of Pinjarra is a wonderfully located, quiet picnic area.

The Murray Shire Council had for many years pursued the vision that a footbridge, spanning the Murray River in central Pinjarra, could be achieved if carried out as an Australian Army training exercise

After much lobbying, the Federal Government in 1983, agreed to Army involvement with no cost to the Council for labour. Alcoa of Australia Limited donated the materials.

The bridge officially opened on Sunday 10 November 1985.
