Bindjareb Boodja – Back to Pinjarra Day Presented by Respect Yourself Respect Your Culture

Unite on the banks of the Murray River to commemorate the 1834 Pinjarra Massacre and pay respects to the ancestors who have fallen.

In recognition of one of the most notorious incidents in Aboriginal history, the event aims to create cultural awareness among community members and assist with the spiritual healing of the Bindjareb nation and first Australians.

🕒 Event Details:

10:00am – Welcome to Country
10:10am – Minute silence
10:10am onwards – Smoking ceremony, laying of wreaths, Bindjareb Middar performers, didgeridoo competition, interactive cultural activities and live music

The event is a community led and run initiative, operating under the guidance of Aboriginal event coordinators and is proudly supported by Healthway, Doral, Alcoa and the Shire of Murray.

🎵 Didgeridoo Competition:

$500 up for grabs! Judged by a panel of Elders, entrants will be required to play for two minutes at the event, demonstrating their range of talent.
