About the Role
A typical week in the Shire of Murray Community Development team could look like this:
- Leading a high performing team to deliver outcomes in the Council Plan 2023 - 2033
- Oversight and delivery of innovative community development initiatives.
- Developing programs to enhance and activate community spaces.
- Working with community groups to build their capacity and assisting them to achieve their goals.
- Seeking funding opportunities to deliver strategic outcomes.
- Coordination of event and activity promotion to a broad audience to increase participation.
- Networking with not-for-profit organisations and service providers to build relationships to increase services in the Shire of Murray.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced leader and community development allrounder to lead the Community Development team, someone keen to innovate and play a fundamental role in improving the quality of life for our residents. The position on offer is a Full-time role, working 76 hours per fortnight. An EBA Level 8 salary of $94,425.58 to $99,226.61 per annum dependent upon skills and experience.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will ideally have tertiary qualifications in Community Development and leadership/management and/or substantial demonstrated experience in a similar role.
Skills in motivation, communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution are essential, and experience in writing and managing successful grant submissions are highly regarded.
A demonstrated ability to motivate, manage and prioritise, meet deadlines and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment and the ability to work positively within a small team environment, with a focus on a “can-do” and supportive approach.
