World Environment Day - Planting in the Park

Planting in the Park image.png

Celebrate World Environment Day at our Planting in the Park event and help plant seedlings along the banks of the Murray River in South Yunderup as part of a wider initiative to improve the local waterway and amenity.

The planting day has been made possible through funding from the Shire of Murray, Landcare SJ, Alcoa, and the Peel-Harvey Catchment Council.

A free sausage sizzle with a vegetarian option will be available, as will a coffee van to provide a caffeine boost to busy planters.

Environment and community information and activities will also be available including a chance to meet black cockatoos, learn more about the benefits of planting flora for native birds, and get updates on foreshore restoration works.

The planting day will be held between 9:00am and 1:00pm. The nearest parking is at the Murray River end of Pelican Road in South Yunderup.

Those wanting to make their mark and plant a piece of history can come along at any point between 9am and 1pm on Saturday 25th June at the Willow Gardens Foreshore Reserve.
