Last call for grant funding in Dwellingup for the year

Published on 14 November 2022

It’s the last chance to apply for grants from the Alcoa Dwellingup and Community Assistance Schemes this year.

The Shire of Murray, in collaboration with Alcoa, provides the scheme to assist community-based organisations to build a vibrant, inclusive and healthy Dwellingup community. The fund specifically supports events and projects that demonstrate a benefit to the local area.

This funding has already supported a number of great events and activities this year including:

  • The XVIII Australian Masters Games – Cross Country Point-to-Point (XCP) Mountain Bike
  • Dwellingup Football club – Training club clothing and trophy
  • Dwellingup Primary School P&C – Afterschool dance activity
  • Nanga Music Festival
  • Hotham Valley Anniversary Festival 2022

Applications are being encouraged that demonstrate a strong alignment with the Shire of Murray Strategic Community Plan and will be assessed primarily against the project’s ability to provide benefit to the Dwellingup community.

Shire President Cr. David Bolt said, “The Alcoa Dwellingup and Community Assistance Schemes have helped to fund great initiatives for Dwellingup that strengthen our community and have helped provide fantastic events for visitors and locals.”

Trever Stockil who is the A/WA Manager of Mines said “Alcoa is committed to giving back to the communities where we operate. We are very pleased to support a wide range of activities and projects in Dwellingup adding value to the fantastic work already being carried out by local groups.”
