Each Council Meeting agenda includes an allotted time to respond to questions from members of the public.
If you are able to provide advance notice of the question(s) you intend to raise at a Council meeting, officers will endeavour to provide a full and detailed response to you at the meeting.
Questions without notice can still be asked, however if additional research is required, your question will be taken on notice and a written response will be sent to you. A copy of the question and answer will be included in the agenda of the next Council Meeting.
Council Meetings Conducted via Teleconference
Questions for these meetings will be taken on notice and a written response provided following the meeting and once the necessary research has been undertaken.
Questions for these meetings must be submitted up to one hour before the respective meeting.
Given the ongoing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in particular social gathering and distancing requirements, the WA Government has amended the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996 to make provision for Council meetings to be held via electronic means (e-meetings). The Shire of Murray has made the decision to utilise these new provisions when necessary to ensure the safety of its staff, Elected Members, and the general public.
