Our role in the subdivision process is to provide advice and recommendations to the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) on subdivision applications, based on compliance with our Local Planning Scheme and Shire policy.
Properties (or lots) that are created independently of each other.
Often apply to 'Grouped Dwellings' but can also apply to 'Multiple Dwellings' on the same 'freehold' lot.
Strata Title lots are subject to a Strata Scheme or Survey Strata Plan. Strata Titles may include common property such as a driveway or other communal areas.
Subdivision applications must be submitted to the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) via the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage.

Before determining an application, the Department will refer it to us and any other relevant state government agency for comment and recommendations. In considering the application, we will assess is against our planning framework.
