Your Council

The Shire of Murray is located 80 kilometres south of Perth and covers an area of 1,821 square kilometres. The Shire represents one of the five oldest Council's in Western Australia and was formed on 1 July 1961.

Presently, the Shire of Murray is represented by 9 Councillors. Elections for each Council position are held every 4 years.

The Shire looks after the following suburbs/towns: 

Banksiadale, Barragup, Birchmont, Blythewood, Carcoola, Chadoora, Coolup, Dwellingup, Etmilyn, Fairbridge, Furnissdale, Holyoake, Inglehope, Keralup, Kooljerrenup, Myara, Nambeelup, Nirimba, North Dandalup, North Yunderup, Oakley, Pinjarra (seat), Point Grey, Ravenswood, Solus, Stake Hill, Teesdale, West Coolup, West Pinjarra and Whittaker.

Council meets on a monthly basis to ratify policies and make decisions that affect our Shire.  Council meetings commence with PUBLIC QUESTION TIME at 9.00 am.  Anyone wishing to ask a question(s) should complete a Public Question Time Form and either email (mailbag@murray.wa.gov.au) or submit in written or typed format to the Chief Executive Officer at the Shire of Murray, PO Box 21, Pinjarra WA 6208.
