Marrinup Townsite Camping Grounds

Marrinup

Marinup Townsite campground is only a few kilometres north-west of Dwellingup and provides tables, wood barbecues and toilets.

There is a 4.5km walking trail which connects to the former Marrinup prisoner of war camp. The camp catered for mainly Italian and German prisoners of war, who were set to work as labourers on farms and also cutting firewood. It was built to accommodate 1,600 men.

Bookings do not apply at this campground. It operates on a first come - first served basis. Please contact the campground during peak holiday season for availability.

Heron Point

Heron Point

Heron Point is located off the Old Bunbury Road down Fishermans Road approximately 30 kilometres south of Pinjarra. Surrounding the land is surrounded by Kooljerrenup Nature Reserve.

Paddle before breakfast, fish for dinner and enjoy a drink at sunset. A fantastic place to have a gentle bushwalk or bike ride with a magnificent view across the Harvey Estuary.

A fee is applicable all year round and is 72 hours parking. Sewered toilet facilities and boat ramp, no power options available. There is strictly no dump point, the nearest facility is located in Pinjarra.

Pinjarrah Park Country Camping

Situated on the banks of the Murray River just 3km from the historic town of Pinjarra along Williams Road, the camping area is spread across 4 acres, all grassed, and ideally situated for caravans and tents. The site is serviced by ensuite style amenities and include, gas hot water, mains power, water and gas BBQs. There are also fires rings for use in winter.

The river is readily accessible and ideal for leisurely canoeing or rafting. The area is home to over 75 bird species as well as native animals. Dogs permitted on a leash.

Spend time with the native wildlife and reconnect with nature. Leave the hustle and bustle behind and enjoy the Lane Poole Reserve, a nature lover’s paradise. With its extensive network of bushwalking tracks along the Murray River, it is a favourite recreation spot for Western Australians. There are numerous opportunities for swimming, fishing, canoeing and rafting, with hire equipment and organised tours available from the nearby town of Dwellingup if required.

Enjoy abundant wildlife and a diversity of ever changing landscapes. The picturesque settings comprise of nearly 55,000 hectares spread over rock rimmed pools, rapids and small waterfalls which span out to steeply forested valley slopes and undulating woodlands. In winter, the Murray River flows like a raging torrent, and in summer it dwindles down to a gentle stream. In spring, the forest fills with wonderful Western Australian wildflowers and in autumn you can hear echoing bird calls through the early morning mist.

Stay overnight in one of the many camping and recreation areas, or pack a picnic and enjoy a day trip. Lane Poole is just two hours south of Perth near the town of Dwellingup.

Mandurah Caravan and Tourist Park

The caravan park offers amenities and well shaded grassed powered sites close to facilities and sites with own ensuites.

Baden Powell Campground

Baden Powell

Looking for somewhere to camp close to Perth with plenty of new facilities?

The new Baden Powell campground in Lane Poole Reserve is now open to the public and sites can be booked online.

Located high above the Murray River in pine forest, it is one of two sites in Lane Poole Reserve with bitumen road access. There are a variety of camp sites available including some with space for larger groups, caravans and other bigger vehicles. There are free camp kitchens with gas barbecues, picnic tables, toilets and rubbish bins. Some of the sites are wheelchair accessible. No fires are permitted at any time at this camp site.

The old Baden Powell campground is currently still available for camping on a first-come, first-served basis.

The new for 2013 Baden Powell campground is ideal for families. It features: 42 camp sites 37 sites for tents (2 wheelchair accessible) 5 caravan or camper trailer sites, 3 camp kitchens (1 wheelchair accessible) equipped with: Food preparation surfaces, dining tables, washing-up sinks, gas barbeques, drinking water, 8 toilets (1 wheelchair accessible)
