The Parks & Gardens branch of the Technical Services Department is responsible for mowing, tree pruning, weed spraying, watering of Parks & Reserves, planting of trees and annual gardening projects.

Listed below are this years projects currently being undertaken by our Parks & Gardens Department.

• Cemetery Landscaping - Incorporate some path work and investigations and installation of a sustainable water source
• Zephyer Brook Heritage Rose Garden - The design and installation of Stage 1 automatic reticulation by river water
• Carcoola Reserve Landscaping - Design and basic landscaping around the recently reticulated Hall area
• York Street Bore - Analysis and construction of a suitable bore for the future reticulation of York Street Park
• Dwellingup Oval Park - Design and installation of reticulation around the Dwellingup Oval playground area
• Cantwell Park - Light Pole Replacements - The design and implementation of Stage 1 of the replacement of the Cantwell Park and river foreshore walkway lighting
• North Yunderup Beach Entry - This will be the design and implementation of basic reticulation for the greening of this area
• Kingfisher Park BMX Facility - The design and construction of a new BMX track for the children of North Yunderup
• North Dandalup Community Park - The construction of a half court basketball facility in between the recently constructed BMX track and the existing North Dandalup Community Park area.  This area will eventually be linked with a path system
• Basketball Facilities : Council has adopted a two year replacement/refurbishment program of all basketball facilities within the Shire of Murray.  The project will commence in Dwellingup and continue in Coolup Park, Gowman Way Ravenswood, York Street Park Furnissdale, Murray River Country Estate oval and North Yunderup
• Gowman Way Landscaping - This will implement the final stage of the landscaping which will include kerbing, native garden planting, soft fall and playground equipment
• South West Highway Pinjarra - This will link up both Lions Park and the Pinjarra Main Street.  Works will include landscaping, asphalting and barriers. 
• McLarty Oval Car Park - Extension of the current parking at the rear of the Football Club and the upgrade of the McLarty Oval entrance to incorporate dual access
• Dwellingup Tennis Court Lighting - This will incorporate the design and construction of new lighting for the Dwellingup Tennis Courts
• Lions Park - The construction of a car park overlay and kerbing to finalise the Lions Park landscaping project
• Murray Districts Community Recreation Centre - The construction of a car park overlay and kerbing to complete the recently constructed Centre carpark.
• Murray Districts Community Recreation Centre - Reticulation - The design and construction of Stage 1 automated reticulation.  This will include the extension of the existing river water main and the construction of automated irrigation in both the front and side of the Centre.
• Tree Pruning Program - Tree pruning works will again be undertaken on all power lines, selected parks and open roads within the Shire of Murray
• Weed Spraying - This again will include all weed spraying within townsites, rural road reserves and drainage areas.  In addition, a program has been set up to implement the control of declared weeds within the Shire of Murray.
