Fire Control

Rangers are Fire Control Officers, providing administration of the Bush Fires Act 1954 and Regulations and public education and advice on fire prevention and bush fire awareness.

They also:

Fire Control on Corio Rd, Pinjarra
  • Oversee the production of the annual Bush Fire Notice
  • Review annual restricted and prohibited burning periods
  • Undertake property compliance inspections
  • Liaise with Fire & Emergency Services Authority of WA (FESA) and
  • Department of Conversation and Land management (CALM)
  • Administer Council's (5) Bushfire Brigades
  • Provide Brigade training assistance
  • Oversee purchase and maintenance of brigade equipment and infrastructure
  • Oversee the purchase and replacement of the Fire Appliance fleet

All areas of the Shire are covered by Council's Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades.
