Recap

Over 17,000 people rallied the family and called into Edenvale Homestead over the Saturday and Sunday of the WA Day long weekend.

The event’s array of live music, market stalls, children’s activities, displays demonstrations, workshops and amusements captivated attendees.

On the Lotterywest main stage on the Saturday, musical duo Two Tone Music harmonised attendees, who were further entertained by one of the latest additions to the region’s music scene, The Circus Band.

On the Sunday, Perth’s six-piece brass band Junkadelic, had the crowd boogying to their blend of rhythms inspired by New Orleans street music with Latin and hip-hop influences. Hype concluded Sunday’s main stage entertainment, performing songs from popular pop, rock, country, blues, classic and contemporary genres.

Buskers performed at various locations throughout the festival grounds, for the musical entertainment of the masses as they browsed over 100 market stalls as well as the vintage car and machinery displays, were enlightened by the woodturning demonstrations, appeased their appetites from a choice of 26 food trucks and enjoyed heritage tours.

For the kids, the high energy Eco Faeries show, had onlookers dancing like Willie Wagtails to original and entertaining educational songs.

They also jumped, swirled and shook in the free Eco Faeries Energiser Zone presented by Alcoa, and expended further energy in the unique Gymbus playground presented by MZI Resources.

Free face painting and art and crafts activities further delighted the kids, as did the free percussion and dance workshops run by Junkadelic on the Sunday.

Camel and pony, and train rides, were also available.

The older siblings enjoyed free laser tag as well as the show bags, amusements and go carts.

Together with a number of other events that took place over the course of the weekend including the St Joseph’s School Fair, Pinjarra RSL Open Day, Alcoa and Pinjarra Rotary Art Exhibition and Sale and the Livelihood Handcraft Exhibition and Sale, Pinjarra was alive with activity.

The weekend was a grand celebration of the vibrancy and unique elements of the wonderful Murray district and the Shire thanks all involved especially the volunteers and sponsors.
