(Tachyglossus aculeatus)
Echindna’s are usually solitary mammals, with long spines covering their bodies, with fur between them. They have a bulbous forehead and a long snout to collect their food with. Equipped with a long sticky tongue that can extend to 17cm these slow moving creatures hibernate during very cold weather and shelter in burrows to avoid extreme heat.
