Innovative entrepreneurs are being sought to deliver a cafe and visitor service from one of the Peel Region’s most iconic sites, the Edenvale Heritage Complex located in Pinjarra.
Expressions of interest are now open through the Shire of Murray for potential lessees to lease the tea rooms fitted or unfitted, with the opportunity to provide a visitor servicing function should there be capacity to do so.
Dating back to the 1800’s, the Complex is rich with heritage and entices thousands of visitors each year as the centrepiece of many local events, with numbers expected to increase by up to 40,000 annually following the relocation of the Pinjarra Visitor Centre at the end of the month.
Acting Chief Executive Officer Peter Black said the Complex is the focus of an interpretation and management plan currently in its final stages of development, with the Shire of Murray keen to capitalise on Edenvale’s full potential.
“The Shire is prepared to undertake an upgrade of the kitchen as part of the lease agreement, and has recently overseen the development of community meeting rooms located next to the Complex café which regularly attracts business meetings, networking forums and community workshops,” Mr Black said.
The successful lessee will enjoy a prime town centre location adjacent to the picturesque Murray River, an indoor and outdoor customer area, and an undercover verandah area for patron, breathtaking landscape and maintained gardens.
“Edenvale has so much potential for the right candidate. We are keen to attract a unique approach for the Complex, whilst appreciating the historical significance of the site,” Mr Black said.
The Expression of Interest document may be downloaded on the right. General enquiries should be directed to the Shire’s Director Recreation and Community Development, Ms Gillian Houston on 9531 7768 or email mailbag@murray.wa.gov.au.
Expressions of Interest close Monday 30 January 2012 at 4pm.
Peter Black
Acting Chief Executive Officer
