Shire President Wally Barrett has expressed his sincere condolences following the passing of local community member Roy Adam, who died tragically last week.
“On behalf of the Shire of Murray Councillors and staff, may I extend our deepest sympathy to Roy’s family and friends.”
“Council had only recently acknowledged Roy in December with the inaugural Shire of Murray Volunteer of the Year award, recognising his tireless efforts as a volunteer with the Pinjarra Harness Racing Club. Roy has been an integral member of our community over many years and he will be sadly missed,” Cr Barrett said.
Roy Adam served as a member of the volunteer bush fire brigades and as the Chief Bush Fire Control Officer for the district over an extended period of time where his services have been recognised and appreciated by the general community at large.
Along with being a patron of the Pinjarra Golf Club, Roy had been a long term member since 1960.
