Schools in Murray
There are several primary and secondary schools located within the Shire of Murray which cater to the needs of students.
Austin Cove Baptist College
Austin Cove Baptist College is location in South Yunderup. It is a co-educational college,which opened in 2011.
The school began with 350 students in February 2011 from Kindergarten to Year 8. Over 500 students are already enrolled for 2012. The college will progress to Year 12 by 2015. When fully developed, the College will cater for 450 students in the Primary School and 760 students in the Secondary School.
Carcoola Primary School
Carcoola Primary School is located four kilometres north of Pinjarra. It is set in a quiet rural area away from the main roads. Over the years the school has been modified internally allowing for six teaching classrooms, which are all air conditioned, including a part time Kindergarten and a full time Pre-Primary.
Dwellingup Primary School
Since 1911 Dwellingup Primary School has faithfully served the children and local community of Dwellingup. A gradual decline in numbers over the past 5 years has resulted in the school being re-classified as a Level 3 school with a total of 73 students. Four classes have been formed to cater for the needs of students within these groupings: Kindergarten and Pre-Primary; Year 1 and Year 2; Year 3, 4 and 5 and Year 6 and 7. Most classes are in the vicinity of twenty students.
North Dandalup Primary School
Situated 1.3km north of the town site at the base of the Darling Range, approximately 80kms from Perth, North Dandalup is a small rural school with a school population of 99 students spanning Kindergarten to Year 7. The school is organised into 4 classes i.e. Kindergarden, Pre-Primary and Year 1, Year 2 and 3, Year 4, 5 and Year 6 and 7.
Pinjarra Primary School
Pinjarra Primary School opened in 1959, with approximately 100 students. Since then, the enrolment has increased regularly to be now more than 620 students.
Multi Age Grouping is a feature of the School with combinations of two year groups in each class from Years 2 to 7. Linked to MAG are the phase learning teams for Upper, Middle, Junior and Pre-primary.
Pinjarra Senior High School
Pinjarra Senior High School draws local students and attracts many from outlying towns and farming areas and caters for students from Year 8 - 12.
St Josephs Catholic Primary School Pinjarra
St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Pinjarra, is a dynamic co-educational primary school catering for approximately 230 students from Kindergarten to Year Seven.
