Introducing Allie Glynn
Allie Glynn arrived in Australia emigrating from Johannesburg, South Africa in 1976. A nursing background provided her an opportunity to travel relieving in a variety of nursing posts around the state. During a stay with a nursing friend in the district she learnt of a position available at the Murray Districts Hospital. Allie's application was successful and resulted in her taking up residency in town and an association with Pinjarra that continues today.
Four years ago Allie was forced to retire from nursing due to injury. This resulted in her life taking a very different path. Now a busy weekly schedule involves swimming three times a week at the Murray Leisure Centre, daily exercises at home and a weekly visit to the gym. An avid reader Allie is a regular visitor to the Murray Library where she also participates in the Prime Time group to enjoy a social gathering of like minded board game enthusiasts. Allie puts up stiff competition when the scrabble board appears and through her involvement with the Rockingham Scrabble Club has won many tournaments including taking top honours last year at the championships.
Allie looks forward to maintaining her health through continuing her fitness campaign and hopes she can return to including beach aerobics in her schedule for the summer.
