Contacting the Ranger Services
On weekdays the Shire of Murray Ranger Service can be contacted by telephoning 9531 7777 between 8am and 5pm
Outside normal business hours, during weekends and public holidays, residents should call 9531 7777. These calls will be answered by a call centre. On weekends and public holidays, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, enquiries are prioritised and forwarded to Ranger Services by email, or should the matter require immediate response, you will be connected with the on duty Ranger. After 5.00 pm all calls are prioritised and only emergencies are responsed to.
Ranger Responsibilities
Rangers uphold community law, enhance and promote public safety by investigating, issuing infringements and enforcing breaches of various State and local laws.
Rangers can assist with matters such as:
- Dog control
- Off-road vehicle control
- Parking control
- Litter control
- Camping
- Stray and wandering stock
- Abandoned vehicles and shopping trolleys
- Graffiti
- Litter Control
- Signs in public places
- Verge obstructions
- Kennel establishments
- Firebreak and fire hazards
- Education programs
