Membership Requirements

Membership to the Murray Library in Pinjarra is free to all residents of Western Australia. For those under the age of 18 years, a Parent or Guardian's consent is required, with temporary membership available for non-residents of Western Australia.

To become a member, simply submit one of our Membership Application Forms Online or in the library. Come into the library to show proof of your current address and we will provide you with your library card. Any of the following may be used as identification


  • Current WA Drivers Licence.
  • Health Care/Concession Card.
  • Utilities Account.
  • Rates Notice.
  • Rental Agreement.
  • Bank Statement.

Lost your Card?

If your card is lost, misplaced or stolen, report it to the library as soon as possible. A small fee is charged for a replacement card. You are responsible for all items borrowed, lost or damaged on your card.

Have you changed Address?

If you change address, phone number or any other contact details, please let the Murray Library know as soon as possible so they can update your membership.

Your Membership

Your membership card should be presented each time you wish to borrow. Members are entitled to borrow the following items:

  • 8 items only allowed per individual membership.
  • Maximum of 4 DVDs.
  • Maximum of 2 CDs.
  • Maximum of 2 CD-ROMs. 

Lending Periods

Lending periods are three weeks for all items, but non-demand items may be renewed; if it is a high demand material, however, the borrowing period is strictly two weeks.

Items should be returned or renewed prior to the due date to avoid late fees. Should you damage or misplace an item during the lending period, charges will apply.


To renew your items, login to the Library catalogue online, advise one of the helpful staff at the Library, or contact the Murray Library via phone or email. High-demand items, reserved materials and inter-library loans cannot be renewed.

Inter Library Loans Service

Items not available at Murray Library may be available through the Inter Library Loans Service allowing members to borrow items from another library within Australia. We do our best to arrange the items quickly for you; however, occasionally some rare or high-demand items can take a little more time to access. Please ask the library staff for more information.
